body worlds

If you live in Salt Lake City and haven't seen this exhibit, well, what are you waiting for? Check it out. It's at the Library Square, downtown at 200E. 400S. You will never get another chance to see the human body like this.

Did you know:
...that someone can really die from a broken heart?
...that living a happy life, can add years to your lifespan? (Is your glass half full, or half empty?)
...that in your lifetime, your heart pumps an average of 1 million barrels of blood?
...that your heart beats 100,000 times in one day?
...that your blood circulates thru your body 3 times every minute?
...that in one day, your blood travels a total of 12,000 miles? (That's 4 times the distance across the US from coast to coast.)

Wouldn't they let you take pictures inside? Bummer! That would've been cool to see. But I also understand why they wouldn't let you take them.

It's that new and it is always going to be there. Sounds interesting, it would make a good field trip or family adventure.
Thanks for all the info about the heart.

Hey Amee, we went on a field trip to body worlds when it was here in the Big D. It was truly amazing to see all the poses of the bodies. The visual image of how many muscles it takes to run was amazing.I was also fascinated by the slides of tissue. It's a litle pricey to visit but well worth the money.Love ya!!

Nope! No cameras were allowed. I know it was hard, but I actually got to enjoy the exhibit. Did I mention that all the bodies and organs on display were real? Very cool....
And, the exhibit is only on display thru January. I believe it travels throughout the world.

Yep! It was well worth the money. And you're right Cheree, the poses of the bodies to show balance and every angle possible of the human body was amazing. It really showcases the muscles and bones and how everything works together. (From artificial joints to a healthy lung to a non-healthy lung to a brain with migraines.) (etc.) It's all there.
