FOOTBALL: LEHI

Lehi had their first game last night against their rival Lone Peak.  These young boys played their hearts out.  It was a fun and intense game from the beginning.  Some parents, I noticed, couldn't even watch.  I put my camera aside for a second and starting commenting on a certain call, but then realized that I should just stop.  Then I started snapping away again.  I love this game so much that I have a hard time not 'getting in to it'.  ;)

I feel almost at home with this team.  I've been shooting their games for last couple of seasons.  Getting to see some of the same boys play and develop their skill is so fun to be a part of and to capture that on camera is the greatest feeling for me.  I also love seeing the new players and getting to 'know' them as well.  It's hard because by the middle or even end of a season, I get to know their last names and numbers like the back of my hand.  You tell me a first name, and I get lost.  Blaze?...Who?  Oh yes,  Nield #27.  But then the next season they all change numbers.  It's like a test for me.  ;)

Here are a few shots from the game.  It's hard to pick just a few to show here, but I will have all of them on my site to view very soon.  So keep checking.  And I'm sure I will be posting more here on the blog as well.

This boy holding the down marker is not sleeping...
I think he just found out that the other team just scored.  ;(

Halftime:  One of my favorite times to shoot during these boys' football games.  I love capturing the look on their face while listening to their coaches.  They really want to play and play well.  They hang on every coaches' words.

We even have cheerleaders this year!  Hollla!

'TIS THE SEASON...

Can you feel it?

Can you smell it in the air?

It's Pigskin season!  Tail-gating season!  Monday night party season!  NFL season!  Superbowl season!  BCS season!  Little league season!

It's Football season, people!  Hollla!!

Yep, NFL pre-season has already started, which means football is right around the corner!  WhooHoo!  I hope you are all excited for this as much as I am!  ;)
It's time to put on that jersey, toss the football around, get out the grill, finalize your fantasy team, and cheer as loud as you can.  You just can't help it.  There's nothing better than watching your favorite team.  Sitting on the edge of your seat, adrenaline pumping, down to the last seconds of the game.  Hopefully.  A winning game.  Chillin' with friends.  Eating pizza, popcorn, red beans and rice, or whatever it may be.  Football just seems to bring people together.  Well, most people.  ;)

And to celebrate the beginning of this football season, I am lucky enough to be able to go to Seattle, Washington and see LSU's first game to kick it all off.  Yep, the LSU Tigers and the Washington Huskies next weekend, September 5th.  Seattle is an awesome city and I can't wait to get there and cheer on the boyz to victory!  Geaux Tigers!

(This is a shot of LSU's stadium in Baton Rouge, LA.)

I'll be shooting for a couple of youth teams this year.  The first game is tonight!  I can't believe it.  I can't believe it's already here.  I love watching these young boys play.  They play with all heart and passion!  And it's so fun to see them mature and get better and better with each year.

Here's a short fun video of last season to kick off the new one!  ;)

Are you ready?.....For some football?!.....

Here's a quick shout out to
The New Orleans Saints - - Who Dat?!
and
LSU - - Geaux Tigers!

Happy Football Everybody!  ;)

BRIGHTON : SILVER LAKE

Brighton Ski Resort, just above Solitude Ski Resort, is absolutely beautiful!  Jeff, Vivian, Kyler, and I were all able to go up there and soak up some fresh mountain air.  I believe it reached up to the mid 50's!  Fresh mountain air on the cool side!  It was perfect.  We reached the cabin at Brighton and headed over to Silver Lake for a little hiking.  Dad, if you're reading this, there's lots of 'marsh' up there.  ;)  You were right.  There's marsh not only in the south, but you can also find it in the mountains.  This place is gorgeous with some amazing views.  There were people hiking, rock climbing, fishing, canoeing, and photographing.  ;)

Vivian and I had lots of fun with our cameras.  (See, this is proof that I'm not the only one with a camera in hand.)

Viv and Kyler...

Two thumbs up!  ;)

Having fun with our reflection.

Another reflection.  My version of 'Monet'.

I asked this kid who was fishing if I could take his picture.  He shrugged his shoulders and said Sure, I guess...  So I did.  And by the smile on his face, I think he thought it was actually kind of cool.

One of my favorites.

When it started to pour down rain, we took shelter under a tree.  Viv and I decided to have a little fun.

Jeff took this next shot.

L.o.v.e. the rainbow!  Couldn't ask for a better ending to an awesome day!  It was the 'cherry on top'.
